What is a coordinator and do I need one?

Your coordinator will receive all class information and instructions along with your tape or CD. The coordinator will distribute class assignments and assure us that every reasonable precaution is taken to protect the integrity of all exam and quizzes. Some of the 500 level or above courses do not require a coordinator. Please check with our office or the instructor to make sure you do not need a coordinator.

How do I view my TOP course lecture notes online?
  1. From the course homepage, click on the“Lecture Notes” link.
  2. You should now see a list of links to each set of lecture notes, labeled by their corresponding chapter number or topic. Most sets of lecture notes will be in Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe format. If they are in Acrobat format, they will open just as any web page would. However, if they are PowerPoint files, your browser may ask you whether you would like to open the file or save it. If you simply want to view the lecture notes online, choose the “Open” option. If you would like to download them to view offline at a later time, choose the save option.

When viewing a TOP video lecture the text on the PowerPoint slides appears small and out of focus. Is there a way to make this clearer or easier to view?

  1. From the course homepage, click on the “Video Lectures” link.
  2. After logging in using your Unity ID and password, choose the lecture you would like to view.
  3. The selected video lecture will open in a separate RealPlayer window, leaving the video lectures page open in your Web browser. You may want to reposition your RealPlayer window to one corner of the monitor.
  4. With the video lecture still playing in RealPlayer, click on the “Lecture Notes” link on the course Website.
  5. On the Lecture Notes page, click on the lecture notes link that corresponds with the video lecture you are viewing. If the notes are in PowerPoint format, you will be prompted to open or save the file. Click on “Open” to open the file in your Web browser.
  6. You may need to resize your browser window in order to view the RealPlayer video window and the PowerPoint slideshow simultaneously. To do so, mouse over the corner of your Web browser window until the cursor takes the shape of a two-headed arrow. Now drag inward to shrink the size of the browser window until you are able to see both the RealPlayer window and the PowerPoint slideshow on the screen.
  7. Now you may follow along in the slideshow, clicking on the slides to move forward, as the professor discusses the slides in the video lecture.
