The College of Textiles at NC State offers a certificate program for those desiring to increase their knowledge of textiles through a structured study program. A certificate signed by the Associate Dean for Academic Programs will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of an approved interrelated 15 (minimum) semester hours.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. To be considered for the program, an original transcript must be submitted with your application.Required courses (9 hours)
T 200 - Introduction to Textiles (3)
PCC 203 - Introduction to Polymer Chemistry (3)
TAM 217 - The Business of Textiles (3)
Additional courses (at least 6 hours)
PCC 301 - Technology of Dyeing and Finishing (4)
TT 221 - Yarn Production & Properties I(2)
TT 252 - Formation and Structure of Textile Fabrics (4)

Academic Performance
A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 is required. None of the required 15 hours may be taken for S/U or “credit only”. No transfer credits from other institutions are allowed for the certificate.
Applying for the Undergraduate Certificate in Textile Fundamentals
Students submit an Application Form and an official transcript of bachelor’s degree studies and award. If accepted, student will receive a letter of approval.
