How to Register for My Classes

The department of Registration and Records is responsible for this system. This department also sends out your Unity ID, initial password, and PIN that you need to access this system.

  • Once you have decided what classes you want to take, then you go to Freshman Self-Registration Program and you have all the information needed to select times, days, etc for the classes you want. Probably the most important link on this page is at the very bottom, MY PACK Tutorials. Once you are there, you will see several very helpful links, and again, the one you will use a lot is the College of Textiles’ site,
    EARLY REGISTRATION.

  • AGAIN, DO YOU KNOW A STUDENT WHO ATTENDS NC STATE? If you do, nothing would be better than to get one of them to sit down with you to help you use MY PACK. BUT use the information at Choosing Your Classes to select your courses. Even upper class students in the College of Textiles will not know about changes that affect you which did not affect them.

  • If the class you want is full, you could try to wait list the class. You need to consider that the smaller the class, the less chance you have of getting in the class from the wait list. You would need to continue to check your schedule to see if you make it into the class.

  • Many classes have restrictions on them but many times the restriction allows you, as a new student, to add the class. Try to add the class and see if you are allowed to do so.
