Visits to the College
On August 20th, Sibylle Wenish, VDMA (Association of German Machine Manufacturers), Kurt Schoeller, President of American Truetzschler, and Chair of ATMA, and Butch Johnson, Sales Engineer of American Truetzschler, and graduate of the College of Textiles in 1962 visited with Dean Blan Godfrey, Behnam Pourdeyhimi, Director of the Nonwovens Cooperative Research Group, Bill Oxenham, Associate Dean for Academics and Helmut Hergeth, professor in TATM. On August 22nd, Dr. Noriaki Kano gave a special seminar at the College of Textiles to share his views on quality in Japan. Dr. Kano is a Professor, Department of Management Science, Faculty of Engineering, Science University of Tokyo. In the United States he is most known for the Kano Model. He is an academician in the International Academy of Quality, a senior consultant of the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers, and in the opinion of many the leading quality theoretician in Japan today. On August 28th, Ed Thomas, Director of Advanced Materials
Research, Mike Baron, Director of Advanced Innovation Team, Lashurya Wise,
Sr. Materials Researcher, and Bhupesh Dua, Sr. Materials Rearcher,
all of which are from Nike visited the college to learn about the
various research platforms and research activities here at the college. |
