Faculty Position in Nonwovens and Paper Science Engineering

The interdisciplinary department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science at North Carolina State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of nonwovens and paper science engineering. Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated accomplishments in industrial and/or academic research with a proven record of outstanding teaching and successful research proposal activity. While the research area is nonwovens, topics of particular interest to the program include:
- Fiber and polymer physics and engineering
- Applications in biomedical, filtration, and/or surface and interface science
- Characterization of advanced materials, particularly nanoscale
- Modeling and simulation with regards to fluid mechanics and dynamics
Depending on the experience of the candidate, the position may be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the ABET-accredited Textile Engineering Program or Polymer and Color Chemistry Program, with an opportunity for a joint appointment in the Pulp and Paper Science Program, Chemical and Biological Engineering, or other Engineering or Chemistry programs at NC State University. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry or technology.
