CD Media Types
  • CD-R (Compact Disc-Recordable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written once. Data may not be erased and re-recorded. Normally 700 Megabytes in capacity.

  • CD-RW (Compact Disc ReWritable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written many times. Data may be erased and re-recorded. Normally 700 Megabytes in capacity.

 

DVD Media Types
  • DVD-R (Digital Versatile Disk - Recordable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written once. Data may not be erased and re-recorded. Normally 4.7 Gigabytes in capacity. DVD-R is one of the most common DVD formats and is accepted by the widest number of DVD players sold today. (DVD-R is properly pronounced as "DVD Are" or "DVD Dash Are", but not "DVD Minus Are").

  • DVD-RW (Digital Versatile Disk - ReWritable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written many times. Data may be erased and re-recorded. Normally 4.7 Gigabytes in capacity.

  • DVD+R (Digital Versatile Disk + Recordable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written once. Data may not be erased and re-recorded. Normally 4.7 Gigabytes in capacity. DVD+R is not as widely accepted as the DVD-R format but most modern DVD players sold today will play both formats.

  • DVD+RW (Digital Versatile Disk + ReWritable)
  • Optical disc to which data or audio may be written many times. Data may be erased and re-recorded. Normally 4.7 Gigabytes in capacity. DVD+RW is not as widely accepted as the DVD-RW format but most modern DVD players sold today will play both formats.

Media Duplication, printing, and packaging
Media Services offers a full range of CD/DVD duplication and printing services including, but not neccessarily limited to, the following:

  • CD/DVD duplication (business card and full size)
  • CD/DVD label printing (business card and full size)
  • CD/DVD packaging in spindles, jewel cases, or paper sleeves

All CD/DVD label printing jobs require inkjet printable media. See media ordering information below for details.
