Sonja Salmon Sonja Salmon  
Sonja, long-time resident of Raleigh, North Carolina, majored in Textile Chemistry (now Polymer and Color Chemistry). After graduating in 1989 with her BS degree, she completed a Ph.D. in Fiber and Polymer Science at NCSU, with a minor in biochemistry. Her strong interest in natural products led her to work for a leading biotechnology company, Novozymes North America (Franklinton, NC), where she is a research manager in the enzyme Application Technology group.
     
Jacob Hooker Jacob Hooker  
Born in Asheville, NC, Jacob entered NC State on a College of Textiles Scholarship. He earned a double major in Textile Chemistry and Chemistry in 2002 with a concentration in Polymer Science and was awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship for graduate school. He is currently at the University of California, Berkeley working toward his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Jacob's research interests span chemistry, biology, and material science as evident in his current work with synthetically modified self-assembling viral capsids.
     
Carol Revels Carol Revels  
Carol hails from Greensboro, NC, and completed her BS in Textile Chemistry in 1986 and Masters in 1994. Her career in color science includes experience with Burlington Industries, Spartan Mills, and Cone Mills. Carol joined Gap Inc. in 2001 as Manager of Color Services at their sourcing office in Miami, Florida.
   
Heather Hubert Heather Hubert
Heather, originally from Vincennes, Indiana, completed her BS in Textile Chemistry in 1994 and MS in Textile Chemistry with a minor in Toxicology in 1996 from NCSU.   She began her career at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan as a project engineer in the Color & Trim Department.  
Her responsibilities have included fabric and leather color and construction development for all GM vehicles.   She was a technical advisor and supported the incorporation of natural weathering requirements for interior trim materials including fabric, carpet, leather, paint, and plastic.
