Certificate in Textile Technology

Why Is NC State's Textile Certificate Program Unique?

Our textile experts teach using accelerated learning and simulation methods to achieve maximum transfer of skills to the workplace. The typical training program transfers to the job only about 30% of what is laught. Our objective is to greatly exceed thai level.


How Do I Qualify?

Our certificate program requires the completion of five courses - - three core and two electives - - within a period of three years.

Core Courses - you must take three:

Textiles Overview
(aka Introduction to Textiles)
Textile Fundamentals
Developing Fabric Properties for Knits and Wovens
(aka Knit and Woven Fabric Development)
Textile Manufacturing Laboratory Workshop
Fundamentals of Textile Testing
Dyeing and Finishing Fundamentals

Electives - you must take two:

Technical Textiles Fundamentals
Fundamentals of Color: Lab Dips to Production
(aka Textile Product Color Principles)
Fundamentals for Fiber and Fabric Identification
(aka Textiles for Forensic Applications)

Complete and Submit a Certificate Application

Textile Technology Application Form

Cost for Certificate Program
$50 processing fee
