This issue of JTATM will provide a collection of articles on financial practices, strategies, and the global financial impacts facing the textile and apparel industry ---
with the purpose of bringing together the current thrusts of academic and industry inquiry to provide information for future financial needs and directions.

Attention will be given to manuscripts, conceptual and empirical, which broaden and deepen our understanding of financial aspects of the textile and apparel industry – from fiber to retail. Papers that significantly contribute to the general knowledge of finance for the industry, emphasizing managerial implications and highlighting avenues of future research, are also welcome.

Possible topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Cost and access to capital, including Asset Based Lending
  • Capital Investments – technology, equipment, plant location
  • Costing – new product development
  • Currency Exchange risks
  • Competing/Competitive markets analysis
  • Cost of Compliance – environmental, labor, importing/exporting
  • New strategies for sharing profit margins within the textile and apparel pipeline
  • Financial Norms for the industry (e.g., ROI, GMROI, ROA, ROE), new profitability measures
  • Company reorganization strategies
  • Risk Management (operational risks: technology, processes, organization, personnel, culture)
