Creative Textile Education

Welcome to this issue of the Journal of Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management (JTATM) focusing on "Creative Textile Education." As you will read in this issue, we are providing opportunities to educate the creative with diverse and teaching and research experiences as well as use creative strategies to educate our undergraduate and graduate students.

Numerous examples of creative textile education are included in this issue:

  • Our expanded programs in design at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Our partnerships with
    • NCSU College of Design, and other NCSU academic programs
    • Textile complex located in North Carolina (including companies producing/marketing apparel, home textiles, nonwovens, transportation textiles, industrial textiles)
    • Government organizations (US Department of Commerce; NC Department of Commerce)
  • Our outreach to the global textile community, with faculty and students creatively learning and sharing with others
