Mission Statement

To establish a high quality forum relevant to the needs of global industry and higher education that will provide leadership in the timely dissemination of information dealing with all aspects of textile and apparel, technology and management.

 

College of Textiles Digital Design Center

The Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management (TATM) department includes a Digital Design lab which specializes in 3D Body Scanning, Direct Digital Printing, Whole Body Knitted Garments, and Computer Aided Apparel and Fabric Design.

Textile students have access to a vast array of computing resources in this lab. Computers of all types (Macintosh, PC, Linux), digitizers, scanners, and printers are also supplied. The featured ENCAD digital Textile Printer is located in this lab. This lab is focused on the application of Digital Design. Computers and manufacturing equipment of all types are used in this lab to produce state of the art manufacturing systems.



This lab contains:

o 12 UNITY Computers
o 1 Computer with Windows NT 4.0 for 3-D Body Scanning
o 1 Computer with Windows 2000 to run a Stork Printer which is the top of the line high quality continuous print.
o 1 Computer with Windows 2000 to run a Stork Printer that is reactive dye
o 1 Computer with Windows 2000 to run a Stork Printer that is acid dye
o 1 Computer with Windows 2000 that runs Mona Digital Libary
o 12 Computers with Windows 2000 that are the Design Stations
o 1 Computer with Windows 2000 that is used for Vision for Textiles.
o 3 Apple computers with 1 running Point Carre for Wovens and knit design
o 4 Computers with Windows 2000 running Scotweave.
o 1 Computer with Linux to run Sophis
