IFAI 2006 International Achievement Award Winners Announced (Roseville, Minn. – Oct. 31, 2006) – The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) is proud to announce the winners of the 2006 International Achievement Awards. For nearly 60 years, the International Achievement Awards have recognized design and technological innovation and excellence in the specialty fabrics industry. The projects created by the industry continue to grow in scope as applications for specialty fabrics advance. The 59th-annual competition received 348 entries from companies in 13 countries. Entries in 27 categories were judged by a diverse panel of industry experts, editors, architects, educators, and design professionals who were selected for their knowledge of the particular category of competition. Judging was based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. IFAI encourages project submissions of all sizes and type. The goal of the International Achievement Awards is to further awareness of the specialty fabrics used in hundreds of products. All the entries receive exposure at the annual IFAI Expo, the official trade show of the Industrial Fabrics Association International. Additional publicity is received through coverage in IFAI magazines, as well as through press releases sent to media professionals. The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by IFAI, a not-for-profit trade association whose 2,000 member companies represent the international specialty fabrics marketplace. The 2006 International Achievement Awards were presented during IFAI Expo 2006, the Americas’ largest annual specialty fabrics event.
