Welcome to Key Haven, a pleasant forty-acre wooded peninsula of land on Kerr
Lake with primitive accommodations for picnicking and camping. This property
was named "Key Haven" in honor of Professor Emeritus Key Barkley,
who was one of the most energetic of the charter members (circa 1956). Only
key holders and their guests may use this facility. It is available on a first-come,
first-served basis to key holders. Groups may reserve an area, during non-prime
time.
Key Haven is maintained through annual user fees and by labor contributed by
the users. Disbursements go for road grading, gravel, locks, keys, and occasional
capital purchases such as picnic tables. Gifts and contributions (tax deductible)
are welcome. Contact the Key Haven Committee.
