September 27, 2007
Don Alexander, Anovotek LLC & Bob Curtis, Eastman Kodak Co.
Anovotek, LLC was founded by Don Alexander. Alexander holds an MS in Textiles from the Institute of Textile Technology and a BS in Textile Chemistry from Clemson University. His company helps to develop and commercialize new technology. One of these new technologies involves silver as an antimicrobial. Kodak has a long history of working with silver in photographic materials. These two companies have come together to offer a silver chloride product for use in performance apparel. The presentation touched on the chemistry behinds the products efficacy, the importance of marketing, and the environmental issues surrounding new technologies.
