The project began in the Fall semester of 2004 when Freudenberg Nonwovens came to NC State to find a group of students in the apparel production department to do a research project with nonowoven fabrics. The initial request was to design and create everyday clothing out of their Novolon and Evolon fabrics.

NC State decided to pull together a group of ten students ranging from undergraduate to doctoral students to work on the project. As a group, we decided to create and market our clothing towards the Urban Market made up of 18-24 year-old fashion forward females. We researched current trends, colors, and styles to incorporate into our line of clothing. From there, each designer had full reign to create a grouping of garments they felt could be made out of nonwoven fabrics. The entire project has always been on an independent basis. The group meets every Friday to discuss our progress, however a majority of the work is done on the designers' own time.

We have made a lot of progress in the last few years, and we hope to continue in the years to come. Please take a look at our collection of garments as well as our upcoming events and published articles.
