Alisa Hunt-Lowery
Alisa was born in Laurinburg, NC. She attended North Carolina State University and graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in textile engineering. After graduation, she worked as a production manager and process engineer with Milliken & Co. in Blacksburg, SC. In 2004, she completed her master’s degree with a major in industrial engineering and minors in statistics and materials science and engineering at North Carolina State University. Her research was the optimization of thin film dielectric kinetic processes utilizing statistical process control techniques, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and surface response analysis. After graduation, she worked with Caterpillar, Inc. as a design engineer responsible for Backhoe Loader current production engineering. While at Caterpillar she deployed Six Sigma methodologies as a Green Belt for process improvement for an average annual savings of $340,000. In 2006, Alisa joined Textiles Extension Education for Economic Development at North Carolina State University as the Six Sigma Program Manager.
