Marissa Langford
Marissa J. Langford is the Business Development Officer of Textile Extension Education for the College of Textiles at NC State University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Engineering from NC State University in 1989. After working eight years in the textile industry as a process engineer and sales engineer, Marissa returned to NC State in 1998 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Textile Engineering with a minor in statistics. Prior to rejoining NC State in early 2007, she was the manager of the JMPTM Software training group and the Design Institute for Six Sigma at the SAS Institute in Cary, NC.
While Marissa's early training and experience in performance improvement and management systems was in manufacturing, she has translated her knowledge to service based organizations. As a black belt at SAS and NC State University she has worked with numerous healthcare and financial organizations to train and coach Green Belts, Black Belts, executives and champions.
