Job Forum & Career Fair

The College of Textiles hosts an annual Job Forum & Career Fair where companies seeking to hire textile students come to the College of Textiles. This allows the students to familiarize themselves with the companies seeking potential interns & entry-level candidates. If you are interested in having your company represented at our annual Job Forum & Career Fair , please contact Kent Hester via email or telephone (919)515-6530.

Part-time & Summer jobs

Students receive assistance finding part-time jobs through the Office of Student Services. Annually the office helps numerous students find on-campus jobs, and more than 50 rising seniors are placed in summer jobs with textile companies throughout the United States.
Students can also find assistance while searching for summer jobs through the Office of Student Services. There are opportunities for students to co-op and even get summer jobs as early as the summer after their freshman year.

Internships

Upper class students receive help in finding summer internships through the Office of Student Services. To be eligible for an internship, a student must be a rising senior with a GPA of 2.5 or greater, and it must be the student's last summer prior to graduation. Credit can also be received for official internships. Information sessions are held each year to prepare qualified students for this process.

Entry-level Careers

This past year more than 20 different companies visited our office for on-campus interviews. 90 seniors used the office to interview for their first full-time career. 95% of our 2006-2007 graduates have been placed in a job. The average starting salary for the Class of 2006-2007 was $42,685, with the top 10% of the graduates earning over $50,000 per year.
