Conductivity

Conduction occurs as warmth passes through a material by molecular motion without actual physical transfer of material. The test represents the movement of dry heat from the body surface through the test material to another cooler object that has come in contact with the body (i.e. sitting on a cold chair). The conductance value is the intrinsic measurement (watts/m2°C) and the conductivity (watts/m°C) value provides a normalization of conduction on a per thickness basis for material comparisons. Higher values indicate there is greater heat loss.
